In an effort to increase environmental awareness, the deputy minister of the department of social development DM Hendrietta Ipeleng Bogopane-Zulu in conjunction with Mpilenhle Recycling invited scholars from the community for a clean-up campaign and planting of trees in the community.
The purpose of this clean-up was to promote and encourage environmental awareness and the discussion of pollution and associated issues.
The team worked together to remove garbage from a designated site, taking care that disposal of that waste is managed responsibly. By participating in clean-ups, scholars can create immediate results and permanent changes in their local areas.
